Canada Day
in Ottawa

So, you have decided to celebrate Canada Day in Ottawa this year? Is this your first time or do you always celebrate it here? If it is your first time or your 25th time, you won't be disappointed as there is always a lot to do around the city.

Here are some of the many activities that were planned for Canada Day 2007. For the most up to date information and in case of any changes, please check the National Capital Commission's website (www.canadascapital.gc.ca) for last minute details:

Parliament Hill

  • 9am - Capital City Chorus
  • 9:30am - Flag Raising Ceremony
  • 10:00am - Changing of the Guard
  • 10:30am - RCMP Musical Ride
  • 11:30am - Skyhawks
  • 6:30pm - 10:00pm - Evening Show featuring Eva Avila, Feist, Gregory Charles and more
  • 10:05pm (approx) - Fireworks

Major's Hill Park

  • 10:00am - 5:00pm - "Week-end RockDétente sur demande" with host Mario Duguay will be broadcast live
  • African Hair Braiding
  • 10:00am - 5:00pm - Canada's greatest Buskers
  • 10:00am - 5:00pm - A Tapestry of Canadian Folkways
  • Henna Body Art
  • The Great Canadian Chicken BBQ
  • Cooking Demonstrations
  • Lumberjack Shows
  • 6:00pm - 10:00pm - Blended Roots Music
  • and much, much more!

Jacques-Cartier Park (Gatineau)

  • 7:30am - HBC Run for Canada Finish Line
  • Face Painting
  • Inflatable Games
  • Hands-On Science
  • Dance Stage
  • Six String Nation Guitar
  • 6:00pm - 10:00pm - Musical Currents from Coast to Coast

Miscellaneous Locations Around Ottawa

  • most of the Ottawa Museums around Ottawa will be holding various events and activities for people of all ages
  • National Arts Centre will be holding free performances all day long
  • and many other activities.
