National Gallery
of Canada

Ottawa is proud to be home to The National Gallery of Canada, a world renowned art institution.

It is located at the corner of Sussex Street and St. Patrick Street. The impressive granite and glass structure was built in 1988. It is an exceptional building and it is a popular place for photos for residents and tourists alike.

Besides the beauty of the actual building, it is quite popular because of the 30-foot-tall spider called Maman by Louise Bourgeois that is located outside the gallery.

Inside the gallery is where you will find the exceptional collections. The collections include Canadian Art, Indigenous Art, International Art, Asian Art, Prints & Drawings, Photographs and Contemporary Art. There really is something there to please every taste.
