The Ottawa Folk Festival is another one of Ottawa's best music events. The Festival actually presents shows throughout the year at various locations but its main event is the summer festival that is held at Hog's Back Park.

The 2011 Ottawa Folk Festival (summer festival) will be held from August 25 - 28, 2011. Britannia Park will host the events from Friday to Sunday.

The lineup for 2011 has not been announced as of yet and will be at the end of May. Some of the artists in previous years included:

  • Steve Earle
  • Ron Sexsmith
  • Ferron
  • Dar Williams
  • Iris DeMent
  • Lynn Miles
  • The Sadies
  • and many more artists.

Here is some information about the location of the festival, Britannia Park:

  • there are plenty of OC Transpo buses that will take you within walking distance

  • glass containers are not allowed
  • a great way to see all the shows and help out in your community is to volunteer at the festival

Besides the main stage, there are other events that take place at the festival:

  • musical instrument workshops
  • the CUPE EnviroTent
  • family area for activities and crafts
  • a community drumming jam

There are different ticket packages that you can buy for the event. Some passes allow you to see almost any show or you can buy individual tickets. Tickets can be purchased at the following locations:
