Ottawa
Renegades

The Ottawa Renegades were Ottawa's Canadian Football League (CFL) team. As of April 2006, the CFL announced that the Renegades will not participate in the 2006 season. The League is suspending the operations of the franchise while the search for new ownership continues.

For information purposes, we have left our Renegades page as is so that we may update it when we get our team back in Ottawa! We are remaining hopeful that we will have a CFL team again in the future.

If you are looking for a fun night out then you may want to attend one of their home games. The game is fun to watch and the fans really get into it.

What is the CFL?

The CFL is the Canadian Football League. The CFL is similar to the NFL (National Football League) that is played in the United States but there are some differences. There are three downs instead of four and the field is longer and wider with bigger end zones.

Who are the Ottawa Renegades?

Ottawa lost their CFL team, the Ottawa Rough Riders, after the 1996 season but was granted another CFL franchise on October 17, 2001. The "Gades" (as they are often referred to) began their inaugural season here in Ottawa in 2002.

Where to do they play?

They play at Frank Clair Stadium which is located at Landsdowne Park. The capacity of the stadium is 27,695. You can get to the Stadium by taking Bank Street or Queen Elizabeth Drive.

When do they play?

The pre-season this year started on June 9, 2005 against Montreal. The regular season started on June 24, 2005 against Winnipeg and it will end on November 5, 2005 against Toronto.

How do I get tickets?

You can buy tickets at a few different locations:

  • Renegades Box Office - Coliseum Building at Landsdowne Park (Bank Street side)
  • Renegades by phone at 613-231-5608
  • Capital Tickets – on their website
  • Capital Tickets by phone at 613-599-3267 or 1-877-788-3267

How is parking around Landsdowne Park?

Parking spaces at Landsdowne Park on football nights are only available to season- ticket holders (for a fee). Parking around Landsdowne Park is very limited and the traffic around the stadium on game nights can be very frustrating. You may be better off taking OC Transpo or arranging to have someone drop you off & pick you up.

When you do get to the game, have fun, enjoy, and cheer on the Gades!
