Ottawa Skiing
Are you looking for Ottawa skiing locations? Do you want to downhill, cross
country or snowboarding?
There are plenty of places to choose from in the Ottawa area. A lot
of the ski hills are located across the border in Quebec but we also have some excellent spots
just West of Ottawa. All are within driving distance of downtown.
Have you skied before? If so, then you are familiar with that rush you get when skiing down the slopes. If not, that's okay – we all have to start somewhere. All the ski hills in Ottawa provide lessons for all ages. Even if you know how but it has been awhile since you have
gone then it may be a good idea to take a lesson as a refresher.
So, pick a location, grab some warm clothing and go have some fun on the slopes! If you
fall, don't worry – just laugh it off, pick yourself up and start over again. The falling part
is the part that we are really good at but it is still a fun time!
Here is one location that we highly recommend. We have only been once but our family and friends go regularly and they absolutely love it:
Mont Tremblant
Mont Tremblant, Quebec
819-425-8681
This is one of the most beautiful ski locations near Ottawa. Tremblant has so much to offer. Not only is there amazing skiing but it also has one of the nicest hotels that we have ever seen, the Fairmont Tremblant. All the Fairmont hotels are beautiful (including the Chateau Laurier in Ottawa). Come and see for yourself.
Here is a list of other ski locations in the Ottawa area:

When you are all finished for the day, don't forget to take some time to sit in the chalet by
the fire and enjoy a hot beverage before you head back into the city!
If you are interested in cross country skiing there are hundreds of trails throughout the city. You can go to Gatineau Park or along the river or even the canal. You will often find that people make their own trails on the many biking & walking paths that are here.
Whatever you decide to do, have a great time on your day out in the fresh air!
