If you're looking for a way to cool off this summer, Ottawa water parks offer the perfect location to splash around! Within a short driving distance, these different parks offer a variety of adrenaline pumping slides, refreshing pools, water activities, splash pads, restaurants and all around family fun! Some quick tips to make your day even more enjoyable:

buy your tickets online ahead of time (for some of the water parks) which will give you quicker access into the park itself;
download the park map;
make sure that all riders in your group meet the height requirements;
discuss a meeting point if part of your group gets lost.

www.calypsopark.com Ottawa's newest Water park, Calypso, is Canada's biggest theme waterpark with more than 35 humungous state-of-the-art slides and 100 water games. It also boasts Canada's largest wave pool with over an acre of "ocean" and different types of waves, and has the highest free-standing tower in North America and a 1-km wild and twisted river adventure! All of Calypso's pools are heated and there are restaurants and picnic areas to enjoy a packed lunch. Calypso's attractions include:

At 90 feet (28 metres): ACCELERATORS
4 high-speed waterslides - 2 with four person toboggan boats and 2 with double inner tubes.

At 55 feet (17 metres): AQUALOOPS
2 AquaLoops for thrill-seekers. Start in an enclosed cabin with a trap door. At the signal, the floor suddely opens under your feet and you drop straight down before continuing on a roller coaster-like ride with a 2.5 G loop

At 30 feet (9 metres): FAMILY TWISTERS
4 coiled waterslides with translucent and closed-off sections - ideal for families

Not only are the attractions state of the art, but so is their option of "money at your finger tip". This new payment method is simple and safe, and eliminates the need to carry cash on-site. You simply upload money on your finger and the unused balance is fully refundable at the end of the day or the end of the season. The system recognizes 16 points on three skin layers, you can have more than one user per account, and the prints are not linked to a name or any other details. There are clothes dryers on-site, lockers, a toddler area and even a VIP zone with cabanas! Directions from Ottawa:

Turn left onto Limoges Road northbound
Take first right onto Calypso Street
