Sound and
Light Show

The Sound and Light Show is a very captivating show that uses the Parliament Buildings as its backdrop. It is a unique and moving show which tells a story through music & words.

Here is some useful information about the Show:

  • the 2008 performances will be held nightly from July 5 – September 7, 2008
  • the show is absolutely free
  • the show lasts 30 minutes
  • there are bleachers available but space is limited
  • if the weather is bad, the show may be cancelled
  • performances will be in French and English

We went to the show a couple of years ago with some family members that were visiting from out of town. After dinner downtown, we walked over to Parliament Hill and found a nice seat on the lawn. We didn't get there early enough for a bleacher seat (not to worry though).

When the show started we didn't quite know what to expect. By the end of the show we were all pleasantly surprised at the presentation and it we all agreed that it was worth seeing. The colours were vibrant, the music was moving and the images were gigantic (much larger than we expected). We were also surprised at the amount of people who turned up to watch it. We will definitely be bringing more visitors back to see it this year. Especially seeing as it is FREE.

So, grab some friends and/or family and head on downtown to see the Sound and Light Show this summer at Parliament Hill. Bring some chairs or a blanket in case you don’t get there in time for a bleacher seat. There is lots of space for everyone so don’t worry about not getting a seat.

Enjoy the presentation!
