Swimming in Ottawa

Whether it is indoors or outdoors, we love going swimming in Ottawa, especially in the summer time. There are plenty of places to cool off on a hot, summer day!

You can choose to go to a beach or there are also a lot of indoor facilities where you can take lessons, do a few laps or get the little ones used to the water.

Whatever your reason, we want to help you find some of the local swimming areas in Ottawa. Make sure to call ahead for some of the Centres & Clubs because they may require a membership to use their pools.

Wading Pools
There are various wading pools around the city of Ottawa. These are great for the younger kids and to familiarize them with the water. We love it because we can just dip our feet in to cool off while the kids are splashing about!! Check out this complete list of wading pools in Ottawa.

Besides swimming pools and beaches, if you are looking for somewhere to cool off in the summer, there are also a good number of splash pads in Ottawa to choose from. This is definitely one of our favourite summer activities with our kids. The bonus, it's free!
