Walking Tour of Ottawa

We visited Ottawa in October 2009, a beautiful city, very welcoming people, and so many attractions.
We took the Ottawa Walking Tour. The tour departed from 90 Wellington Street (in front of the Capital Information Centre, directly across the street from Parliament Hill) and lasted approximately 2-2.5 hours.
During the tour we walked around Parliament Hill, the National War Memorial, The Supreme Court, Sparks Street, Major's Hill Park, The Chateau Laurier, The Bank of Canada, The Rideau Canal, The Prime Minister's Offices, The By Ward Market and other areas of interest within Ottawa's downtown core. The price was $10 per person ages 11 and over.
It was excellent. A great introduction to Ottawa and Craig our guide had lots of information about all the places we saw and loads of background knowledge, ie places to eat.
We spent a week in Ottawa, staying at Econo Lodge Downtown, a very clean, central motel with excellent staff.
We visited The Currency Museum, took the tour of Parliament Hill, the War Museum, the Aviation Museum, the Civilisation Museum and the Science and Technology Museum. We enjoyed all of them, and some were free or at a discount. We also went to see the Ottawa 67s play, our first hockey game. It was fantastic.
We used public transport (OC Transpo) which was very cheap, especially if you use the token system.
I would strongly recommend Ottawa to anyone - lots to see, good food and great friendly people.
