The Gatineau Hot Air Balloon Festival takes place every year during the long weekend in September. The 2017 event will be held from August 31 to September 4. This year marks the 30th edition and shouldn’t be missed!
The Festival features balloons in different shapes, colours and sizes from different countries. Some countries that have been represented in the past include Australia, Germany and the United States. It is spectacular to see the styles of balloons. You will see balloons of animals, automobiles, people and anything else you can imagine.
The balloon lift-offs will be between 6 and 7pm from Thursday to Monday and between 6:30 and 7:30am on Saturday to Monday. Keep in mind that these times are approximate and depend on the weather.
The Festival offers other activities apart from watching balloons:
- petting zoo
- other concerts (for different age groups at different stages)
- face painting
- amusement rides
- artisan and craft tent
- Classic Car Exhibition
- and more.
