The Ottawa Redblacks are Ottawa’s newest Canadian Football League (CFL) team.
The Ottawa Renegades were Ottawa’s Canadian Football League (CFL) team up until the end of the 2005 season. It has been many years since Ottawa has had their own CFL team so there are a lot of very excited people that we have a CFL team again!!
If you are looking for a fun night out then you may want to attend one of the RedBlacks’ home games. Football is fun to watch and the fans really get into it.
What is the CFL?
The CFL is the Canadian Football League. The CFL is similar to the NFL (National Football League) that is played in the United States but there are some differences. There are three downs instead of four and the field is longer and wider with bigger end zones.
Who are the Ottawa RedBlacks?
Ottawa lost their CFL team, the Ottawa Rough Riders, after the 1996 season but was granted another CFL franchise on October 17, 2001. The Renegades played from 2002 – 2005. The RedBlacks are Ottawa’s newest CFL team and started in the 2014 season.
Where to do they play?
They play at TD Place which is located at the newly renovated Lansdowne Park on Bank Street. The new stadium is a 24,000-seat venue that includes a unique new south stand superstructure, a completely refurbished north stand, an all-new playing surface and new high tech scoreboards and in-stadium signage and services.

How is parking around the TD Place?
There is no parking at TD Place. Getting there is quick and easy though. You can use any of their free transportation services. For major events (over 15,000) you can Park and Shuttle directly to TD Place from multiple lots in Ottawa and Gatineau. You can also ride the bus for free or ride your bike and get free, secure bicycle parking a few steps from the stadium.
