Whether it is indoors or outdoors, we love going swimming in Ottawa, especially in the summer time. There are plenty of places to cool off on a hot, summer day! In the wintertime, the indoor pools are a great way to get some exercise and let the kids have some fun (especially if you don’t enjoy the outdoor winter sports)
You can choose to go to a beach or there are also a lot of indoor facilities where you can take lessons, do a few laps or get the little ones used to the water.
Whatever your reason, we want to help you find some of the local swimming areas in Ottawa. Make sure to call ahead for some of the Centres & Clubs because they may require a membership to use their pools.

Besides swimming pools and beaches, if you are looking for somewhere to cool off in the summer, there are also a good number of splash pads in Ottawa to choose from. This is definitely one of our favourite summer activities with our kids. The bonus, it’s free!
