The Fairmont Chateau Laurier is an absolutely breathtaking hotel that is situated in the centre of downtown Ottawa. It is within walking distance of many tourist attractions including Parliament Hill, the Rideau Canal and the Byward Market.
The architecture of the hotel with turrets and limestone is absolutely stunning and resembles a beautiful castle. The beauty of it is one of the reasons that this is such a fascinating hotel.
It was named after Sir Wilfred Laurier who used to be the Prime Minister of Canada. It opened its doors to the public in 1912.
Here is some useful information about one of Ottawa’s most beautiful hotels and what it has to offer its guests and visitors:

If you aren’t going to be staying as a guest then we encourage you to at least visit this amazing building. They offer tours to visitors as well so you can see what a beautiful hotel it is. You can have an Afternoon Tea first and then tour the hotel. What a great way to spend the afternoon downtown.
At Christmas time, they have a beautiful display of Christmas trees in their lobby. Often I’ll go with a group of colleagues during our lunch hour to see it and each year we are always amazed at how spectacular the trees look.
If you go downtown at all during your visit then you won’t be able to miss it. It truly is an amazing structure. If you are fortunate enough to stay in the hotel as a guest then enjoy your stay! You will be treated like royalty.
