We are very fortunate to have so many amazing museums to choose from in Ottawa. Besides being informative, some of them also offer great March Break camps, summer camps, PD day activities and other special events throughout the year.
Here are some of the Ottawa Museums that we recommend. My personal favorites are the War and the Civilization museums. The civilization museum (now called the Canadian Museum of History) is not technically in Ottawa, but just a short jaunt across the bridge from the National Art Museum behind Parliament.

Bytown:
1 Canal Lane
This is the city’s oldest community museum. Learn about the construction of Rideau Canal and the history of Ottawa. Besides being informative, it is located in one of the most beautiful places in the city (between Parliament Buildings and the Chateau Laurier).
History (formerly known as the Museum of Civilization:

Features exhibits on Canadian history including a large indoor collection of totem poles. It also holds an amazing IMAX Theatre.

Diefenbunker:

In the event of a nuclear crisis during the Cold War, it was designed to house the Canadian Government. Read more about the Diefenbunker.

Covers the origin of life on earth
Nature:

Not only are the natural history exhibits informative, the building itself is magnificent. One of our favourites for sure!
